Amazon’s newest distribution center in Texas is nearing completion in San Marcos (near Austin) making it the fifth fulfillment facility in Texas. The project anticipates bringing 1,000 permanent, full-time jobs to the area so Amazon can fulfill the orders of their ever-growing customer base. In Texas alone, Amazon already employs over 3,500 full-time associates and has invested more than $400 million in the state and its company’s growing operations here.
Low Voltage Solutions has been hard at work in Amazon’s new distribution center, installing over a mile of cabling to implement its HVAC controls system, which will serve nearly a million square feet of warehousing space. The facility is already hiring local candidates as operations begin to ramp up into Fall 2016.
While our Austin team is busy wrapping up work at this facility, our Dallas branch is also working on a similar distribution center for Amazon in Fort Worth, which will be the sixth Amazon warehouse in Texas.
